South Country will reimburse up to $20 of the monthly health club membership fees for South Country members enrolled in  Families and Children (PMAP), MinnesotaCare, MSC+, SharedCare, or SingleCare; and up to $40 of the monthly health club membership fees for SeniorCare Complete or AbilityCare.

• AbilityCare and SeniorCare Complete members have no minimum attendance requirement to get their discount. Families and Children(PMAP), MinnesotaCare, MSC+, SingleCare and SharedCare must attend at least 4 days of the month for a discount. There is no limit per household, as long as each participant is eligible and enrolled during the respective month and has a paid health club membership.
• Participating health clubs/fitness centers are part of the NIHCA association. Those not currently affiliated can go to https://nihca.org/ to get more information about membership.
• South Country members will be asked to sign up at your facility to participate. Ask to see their South Country ID card. The card will have their product designation on the front where it says "Care Type." See the red arrow in the green section below - please note there are no color sections on actual card - those are just to identify different parts.

South Country covers up to $15 of the cost of up to 5 Community Education (CE) classes per year for all South Country members. Most classes are covered, however, there are some limitations.

• South Country won't pay for classes involving dangerous sports like rock climbing, scuba diving, etc, or risky activities like zip lines. Also not covered are classes involving alcohol, drugs, or tobacco.

South Country has an invoice form (at right) that CE departments should use to bill South Country for the class discounts. Send the invoice form to the South Country Quality Specialist. Once received, South Country staff will review and check that the member listed on the invoice is enrolled as of the date of the class. Invoices are paid monthly or quarterly. Monthly billing is preferred.

Additionally, South Country covers the entire cost of pregnancy and ECFE classes for South Country members. Participants must be enrolled in a South Country product at the time of the class to receive the benefit. The same procedure is used to bill for these classes, however ECFE has a separate invoice form (at right) which should be used.

Breast Pump Program

South Country covers the cost of prescribed breast pump for pregnant women and new mothers.

• Members can get one breast pump every pregnancy.
• Disposable collection and storage bags for breast milk are covered. You can get 180 bags per month (6 per day). Bottles and other accessories are not covered.
• Rentals (such as a heavy-duty breast pump) are not covered.

Breast pumps and storage bags are considered durable medical equipment (DME) and are available from most in-network DME providers.

South Country has a relationship with Milk Moms, a provider exclusively for lactation equipment and nursing resources.

Embracing Life

Embracing Life is helpful series for new and expecting mothers in the form of a guide, baby calendar, and companion website. The printed guide includes a pregnancy calendar for week-to-week information.

South Country mails pregnancy packets to all newly pregnant women which we find from claims data.

Be Buckled Car Seat program with training

South Country provides one car seat per child age 8 and younger, per lifetime, along with training on how to safely install and use the car seat in a vehicle. Local Public Health offices administer this program. They will verify enrollment through MN-Its or call South Country for clarification.

Car seats are sent to, and dispensed by, the county.
